Nigerian Gospel Artists Should Think Global – Osuba

A Nigerian saxophonist and gospeller, Segun Adewale Fashola popularly called Osuba advises Nigerian gospel artist to think global.

In an interview on Agogo Ayo in Randburg recently, Osuba who is currently plying his craft in South Africa says the quality of gospel music business in Mzanzi has forced him to take his craftmanship to another level.

He appealled to Nigerian gospel artists who sing only in vernacular to endeavour sing in English to push the boundares of their work.

He also challenged Nigerian gospel artist of Yoruba extraction to take their work to a global level in sound, lyrics and video production.

He commended the professionalism inherent in the South African gospel music industry, claiming he has learnt a lot in Mzanzi.

Osuba was a leading gospel artist in Abidjan, Ivory Coast before he sojourned to South Africa.

He claims there is huge acceptance of Nigerian music especially the gospel in Ivory Coast.

Osuba says Abidjan should be ready as he is going there soon with Agogo Ayo for a major gospel concert.
