JOHANNESBURG – The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) says it will maintain a presence on Main Reef Road and Church Street in the Johannesburg CBD following several reports of hijackings and smash and grab attacks.

Officers say they tried to search two suspicious looking men in the area on Wednesday but they fled.

Spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says: “Suspects ran into long grass with illegal firearms, anyone with information on the suspects who are aged approximately 30 to 35 years can call JMPD radio control on 011 375 5911.”
