Protesters take to the streets ahead of Zuma no confidence vote

CAPE TOWN – Tens of thousands of people are expected to descend on Cape Town to join several protests on Monday and Tuesday.

This comes during the debate and the vote on a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma.

On Monday, a group of civil society organisations will be marching to Parliament under the banner, Unite Behind Coalition.

On Tuesday, the ANC in the Dullah Omar region will march in support of the president from the Grand Parade to parliament.

They will share the streets with opposition parties and the Zuma Must Fall movement in the city centre.

Western Cape police say any unlawful conduct will not be tolerated.

Several road closures are expected in and around the CBD.
