3 SA FILMS TO PREMIERE AS TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL GETS UNDERWAY

NEW YORK – Hollywood heads to Canada on Thursday as the Toronto film festival gets underway.

Three feature films from South Africa will premiere at the event, which runs for the next 10 days.

There are quite a few films that are heading into the Toronto film fest with a lot of buzz already; Guillermo Del Toro’s The Shape of Water; Angelina Jolie’s latest directorial effort; and a tennis drama featuring Emma Stone and Steve Carell are among them.

For South Africa, three films are also drumming up interest as the fest officially kicks off; Five Fingers For Marseilles, a western with a local twist; High Fantasy, which was shot entirely on iPhone 7; and The Number, based on the bestselling book by Johnny Steinberg will all aim to stand out during the fest, which features over 200 films from across the world.
