AMBASSADOR AHMED MUSA IBETO HOSTS EGBE OMO YORUBA EXECUTIVES DURING THEIR OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE HIGH COMMISSION IN PRETORIA

Monday , 27th November 2017, Egbe Omo Yoruba Southern Africa (NAYDSA) on behalf of Yoruba Sons and Daughters in South Africa formally welcomed the new Nigeria High Commisioner to the Republic of South Africa, Amb. Ahmed Musa Ibeto.

National leadership of NAYDSA including members of Board of Trustee and few of our Pretoria Chapter members paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency at the high commission.
After the welcoming address by NAYDSA President and members present, the Ambassador expressed his joy to receive the delegation of Egbe Omo Yoruba. He said, he has been waiting for us to pay him a courtesy visit because he has heard a lot of great things about the organization and it was confirmed by our delegation and the speech delivered by our President.

His Excellency noted with great concern the division in NAYDSA that culminated into another ‘breakaway’ Yoruba organization. He emphasized on the great importance of UNITY among us and the need to do away with fragmented organizations. He advised that we make all efforts at all cost to bring ourselves together and he also promised to be part of all our efforts to have a united Yoruba organization.
It is interesting to know that His Excellency hears and speak Yoruba, although not very fluent but you dare not gossip in Yoruba in his presence.

His Excellency counted 48 days on last Friday he arrived in South Africa and has started working building strong foundation for the enormous tasks he is set to accomplished during his tenure as our High Commissioner.
Even though he hasn’t received his letter of credence as at date, that has not deterred him from attending to issues that affects Nigerians since his arrival.

The delay in the letter of credence been given to him is totally beyond his control and that of Nigeria Government but solely on South Africa Government. Once that is done, he will be setting the blocks on the solid foundation he has built till date in order to deliver much more than any previous High Commissioner has ever done.

Amb. Ahmed Musa Ibeto has opened the door of the High Commission to Nigerians since his arrival and promised to continue to throughout his tenure in South Africa. He also promised to renew the model of High Commissioner Advisory Committee during the Amb. Buba Marwa tenure, though he will make it a Consultative Forum with all Socio-Cultural organization representatives and Nigeria Union (NUSA).

NAYDSA as an organization for Yoruba Sons and Daughters in South Africa have the fullest of assurance that the tenure of His Excellency Ahmed Musa Ibeto would be impactful and of great service to Nigerians in South Africa than we have ever experienced in the history of diplomatic relationships between our home nation Nigeria and host nation South Africa.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency distributed his complimentary cards and his mobile no for easy access to him via text messages which he will always reply in the evening!
There was a group photographs with NAYDSA delegation thereafter
