ARCHBISHOP EMERITUS DESMOND TUTU TURNS 86 AND A MONUMENT WAS UNVEILED IN CAPE TOWN IN HIS HONOUR.

The dome shaped “Arch for Arch” is inscribed with excerpts from South Africa’s constitution.

The nine-metre high structure has been erected over a walkway connecting Parliament, St George’s Cathedral, the Slave lodge and the Company Gardens.

The monument is a celebration of Tutu’s lifelong work for peace and reconciliation.

“We are proud to have sponsored this magnificent work of art that for all of us symbolises our heritage and our freedom. Partnering with the Design Indaba afford Liberty the opportunity to be part of using design as a catalyst for social transformation,” explains Monroe.
