HORRIFIC HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT CAUGHT ON CAMERA IN JOBURG CBD

The man was rushed to Hillbrow Clinic, where he is in a critical condition.

A video of a shocking hit-and-run incident in the Johannesburg CBD is making the rounds on social media, City Buzz reports.

Nana Radebe, Johannesburg Emergency Management Services spokesperson, confirmed a man had been hit by a car in a hit-and-run incident that had occurred near the intersection of Von Wielligh and Jeppe streets in downtown Johannesburg.

A copy of the video that was posted on the Intelligence Bureau SA Facebook page has had more than 98 000 views so far.

The video shows a man crossing a road and then slowing down before an oncoming white car. The car then swerves in his direction, hitting him and then dragging him before speeding off. At no point does the car attempt to stop.

Radebe added the man was taken to Hillbrow Clinic.
