MENTORING YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS TO RESIST CORRUPTION BY RON GOODNIGHT

On Monday 25 September 2017 we attended the community development programme organized by HBC a very full package training with over 17 speaker from different part of the world. In this conference there is difference plenary session where different topic was discussed with high experienced speakers such as Thokozile Zulu, Toni Skhosana, Keith Matney, Beckyy, Steve Shook, John Herr, Beth Shook, Nicki Mckee, Dave McKee, Mona Mconald, Tracy Newcomb and Ron Goodnight

Around 3:30 – 5:30pm we opened discussion session which focused on Mentoring Young entrepreneurs to resist corruption by Ron Goodnight

He started by define corruption (by Entity or position) it was interactive session which everyone stated the different sectors that is corrupt, but in my own contribution I let them know that everyone is corrupt, in one way or the order, is very easy to put fingers on the orders but if will search our heart and be honest to our selves we are all corrupt because corruption is two way system the one who gave and the one who received are both corrupt

He identify the affecting areas, such as:
1. Government
2. Politician
3. Non Technical Business
4. Leaders
5. Employees
6. People in General

He also define Entrepreneur and Intrapreneur
And also identify the benefit of mentoring and why is mentoring important

He gives the characteristics of a Good mentor as Expert nice level experience.

He also speak on the important of mentorship
1. Gain experience not sharing books
2. More likely to succeed with the mentor
3. Network opportunities
4. Gives reassurance
5. Helps the business survive longer
6. Helps develop a stronger EQ
Finally he discussed Entrepreneurs Growth steps:
1. Getting started
2. Decide on the type of Business
3. What is the market/competition like
4. Basics of starting a business
5. Creating a business plan
6. Get Financing
7. Hire Employees
8. Training Employees
9. Marketing
10.Running the Business / Growing the business
In this conference there many interesting topic discussed such as Entrepreneurship and Youth : The critical roles of the community development by Dave McKee
At the end of this full pack conference they will be official certificate /award ceremony under the patronage of the Executive mayor of Steve Tshwete Local municipality
