Nigerian Air Force acquiring light attack aircraft from Brazil

According to our source we learnt that the Nigerian Air Force says the Brazilian government has given Embraer Defense and Security permission to sell Nigeria pre-owned attack aircraft.

The three aircraft are Super Tucano A-29s.

The air force said the light attack aircraft would boost its operational capabilities in tackling Boko Haram and other insurgents in the country.

The Super Tucano is a turboprop light attack aircraft for close air support of ground troops and reconnaissance missions. It can also be used as a pilot trainer. It has a maximum speed of 367 miles per hour and a combat radius of 342 miles.

The Brazilian air force will transfer the aircraft to Embraer for transfer to Nigeria after completing legal procedures.
