South African Weds Nigerian in Port Shepstone.

Amidst fun, pomp, and pageantry, Sam Edet traveled as far Port Shepstone in Kwa Zulu Natal (KZN) to marry Slindile Gumede.

The traditional wedding held on Wednesday. The event which held in the heart of Marburg drew the high and mighty: some flew in from Nigeria for the event.

One of the highlights of the evening was the traditional Zulu dance. The athletic sways of the dancers left the audience in awe.

Edet’s in laws could not hide their joy. Pa Gumede tearfully said he knew the day would come when he would have to let go of his daughter. He signaled he released her with tears of joy.

Ma Gumede, the mother of the bride profusely thanked all who came. Her joy and laughter were contagious.

James Okon, leading Nigerian gospeller spiced the evening with a sonorous set of some popular Naija songs, and the audience jived along.

Femi Richard, top Nigerian Entertainment Guru in Johannesburg lent some swagger-Licious style to the event with his crew.

Thabang Mashigo, top South Africa speaking expert added color and glamour to the event with her ‘swaagerlicious’ dance moves.

The Gumedes creamed the night with bud-tempting delicacies that make you want more.

At the glorious event, Xenophobia and Afrophobia were kept at bay as Sam and Sli cemented more concretely the Nigerian and South African socio-cultural fabric.

The white wedding of the latest couple in town holds today.
