POLICE MONITOR LEHAE TAXI RANK FOLLOWING SHOOTING

Police are monitoring the new Lehae taxi rank in Vlakfontein in southern Johannesburg where one person has been killed amid an apparent feud between operators.

Witnesses have told investigators that a gang of armed men travelling in four cars shot a taxi driver on Tuesday and wounded another.

The police’s Kay Makhubele says there have been no arrests yet.

“Police have been deployed all over as the post requires them and we’ll be monitoring all the areas around there to make sure that people are safe.”
