The Nigerian community in South Africa most especially independent organizations that supported the candidacy of the People’s Democratic Party candidate Engr. Abiodun Oluseyi Makinde sent their congratulatory messages to the governor elect of Oyo State for his outstanding success and acceptability by the people of the State in the just concluded gubernatorial election.

The South Africa based organisations that are concerned with good governance and exemplary leadership in our society includes Seyi Makinde Support Group South Africa, Atikunation ICG South Africa, Peoples Democratic Party South Africa Chapter and Association of Oyo State indigenes in South Africa amongst others rejoice with Makinde saying it’s a good voting decision made by the good people of the state.

While addressing at the combined general meeting of the associations in Pretoria, the Chairman of Seyi Makinde Support Group South Africa Mr Rotimi Iyanda said, he is happy that it is obvious the people of the state are becoming independent politically to choose by voting who their leader should be in the next 4 years without influence from anywhere or anybody. He said he is so confident that the kind of leader the state need at the moment is Engr Seyi Makinde and he believe he will perform far better than the outgoing government of the All Progressives Congress.

The Chairman Atikunation ICG South Africa Engr. Funsho Ademoye (Infinity) in his own word, expressed his own appreciation to the good people of the state that they have demonstrated that their votes is their power. He said in spite of all political odds in the state, they have spoken boldly with their votes to tell politicians in and outside the state that their stakes are higher than that of any individual in the state electioneering process. He added that he was at Seyi Makinde Campaign office Omi Tuntun House at Iwo Road Ibadan during the campaign when his support group in South Africa invited Engr. Makinde to be part of an international programme organised by Africa Diaspora Mobilisation Movement (ADMM) on Human and Economic Development in Africa. He further used the opportunity to applaud efforts of Seyi Makinde Campaign Organisation and the political manifesto of Makinde that it will surely bring new Oyo state of their desire in the next four years.

In his own contribution to the congratulatory messages to Engr. Seyi Makinde and his campaign team, the Chairman Association of Oyo State indigenes in South Africa Alhaji Abdulahi Olaniyan said, he was not expecting anything less than the results gotten that Engr. Seyi Makinde won the just concluded gubernatorial election. He said the people of the state have really suffered so much in the hand of Governor Ajimobi administration that the only opposition party that is capable of salvaging the situation is the People’s Democratic Party. He also commend the coalition of other political parties in the state such as Action Democratic Congress, Zenith Labour Party and Social Democratic Party that sent the government of All Progressives Congress packing in the state.

Seyi Makinde the People’s Democratic Party candidate won outstandingly 28 Local Governments out of 33 Local Government in the State and the candidate of the ruling party All Progressives Congress Mr Bayo Adelabu Penkelemesi won the remaining 5 Local Governments in the just concluded governorship election, which make Makinde the governor elect in the State.

Other organisations that attended the New Oyo under Makinde meeting held in Pretoria are, Africa Diaspora Mobilisation Movement (ADMM) Association for Good Governance in Africa (AGGA) The African Portals (TAP) Flashlight Africa Magazine amongst others.

They all enjoin the governor elect Engr. Seyi Makinde not to deviate from his political manifesto which is centred on good governance to the good people of Oyo state and run the government of the masses as he has earlier promised in his campaign before the election.
