THE ANNUAL BUY LOCAL SUMMIT & EXPO (LETS GO SAYS) AT THE SANDTON CONVENTION CENTRE

The 2018 7th edition of the Summit & Expo at the Sandton Convention Centre. The 7th Annual Buy Local Summit & Expo promotes an understanding of the role procurement decision makers have in contributing towards South Africa’s economic growth through the uptake of local products and services.
Day 1 comprises a series of workshops for SME’s and SMME’s on navigating the red tape and legislation required to establish a fully compliant business as well as presentations on business support, access to markets and other tips too.

Day 2’s presentations and panel discussions will follow the theme of Local Procurement: Policy or Preference and will look into the role both the private sector and government have to play in promoting the Buy Local Movement.

The exhibition showcases many Proudly SA member companies from local representatives of global brands and provides a platform for business to business marketing.

The grand finale closing event will be a magnificent cocktail and fashion show powered by Edcon and David Tlale, showcasing outfits from young designers from the Design Innovation Challenge, Edgar’s in-house labels, from Jet and from David’s own collection.

“We received amazing feedback from delegates, exhibitors and speakers, we plan to grow the event even further to make this the most unforgettable, informative and education Summit yet,” says Proudly SA’s CEO, Eustace Mashimbye.

The final session of the day will be a political round table mediated by Redi Tlhabi where Buy Local will unpack the manifestos in relation to local procurement issues of the leading parties ahead of the 2019 elections and seek to elicit a promise that they each procure their election T-shirts etc from local suppliers.

The Proudly South African member Expo runs concurrently with the Summit and is a place to find new local buyers and suppliers from the 200 stands which represent the best of South African businesses, goods and services.
