THE NIGERIA AMBASSADOR MET THE LEADERS OF AYIDSA AND THE MEMBERS OF HALL OF PALADINS IN PRETORIA

As part of the efforts to foster unity among Nigerians in South Africa and to find long-term solutions to the problems facing Nigerians in South Africa, Ambassador Musa Ibeto met the AYIDSA leadership.

AYIDSA NEC and hall of paladins representatives met the High commissioner over some issues today at the Nigeria high commission in Pretoria. Issues discussed are among others AYIDSA relationship with other associations of Nigerians in South Africa. The issue of detained Nigerian Televangelist, Tim Omotoso also discussed. The delegates led by DR SOLA AGBENIYI include AYIDSA Secretary-General, Dr. Femi Oluyeju, Vice Chairman, AYIDSA Hall of the paladin , Prof Diran Makinde of NEPAD. Other members of the hall of paladin are Prof Sunday Ojo and Prof Dayo Yusuf. With the high commissioner is Minister Political Mr. Ifu, Minister Consular matters Mrs. Chindo and Minister, International relations Mr. Idi. The high commissioner gave a task during the AYIDSA heritage week of 16th December 2017. The report of this task was submitted today.

AYIDSA is not at loggerheads with any other associations. Our doors are open to anyone who is ready to abide by the code of conduct and the constitution. We believe in the unity of purpose with other associations in the sense that during their events, they should extend invitations to AYIDSA and vice versa. As Nigerians, we are all one and we should continue to work together in unity and ensure the good image of Nigerian is projected positively in South Africa. Regarding Pastor Tim Omotoso, the high commission is tasked to do more in ensuring that justice is done. it is going to a year now that he was arrested and he has not been granted bail. South Africa is a constitutional democracy.

The high commissioner is to give a lecture on the role of Mission in Tackling crime among Nigerians in South Africa during the 2018 heritage week. We proposed to his excellency and he agreed to give the lecture

The high commissioner advised that there should be love among all Nigerians regardless the various associations. He promised to continue foster unity among all Nigerians in South Africa.

He also promised to do more in the case of Pastor Tim Omotoso.
